Sometimes when our customers face such issues with their LinkedIn accounts managed via Linked Helper, they think it is Linked Helper to blame, while in fact the issue isn't caused by Linked Helper because issues can occur even if you have not been using any automation tool at all, yet have your LinkedIn may temporarily or permanently blocked / restricted by LinkedIn. Information in this article can be helpful for marketers who are actively using their LinkedIn accounts.
- LinkedIn requests emails every time an invite is sent
- "You're out of invitations for now" / "You've reached the invitation limit" warnings
- When I log in I get "Your account has been restricted"
- Your account was suspended to verify you've performed certain actions
LinkedIn requests emails every time an invite is sent
Sometimes LinkedIn asks you to provide an email when you trying to connect with somebody. Some people do not want to be invited by others whom they do not know.
If LinkedIn asks you to provide an email address every time. When this happens, then it means you've got a lot of "don't know" clicks from your second or third connections when they dismissed your invitation. LinkedIn may restrict your profile from inviting profiles without providing LinkedIn with their email addresses. Obviously, this is not a Linked Helper related issue since it cannot make other people accept your invitations. You can get into the same trouble when inviting manually.
You have 3 options:
- Withdraw all sent pending invitations - How to cancel sent pending invites?. Then for the first time ask politely LinkedIn support to remove this restriction. Especially if you have paid a LinkedIn subscription, say that now you can’t work with their platform - How to contact LinkedIn support directly
- Create a new account and move connections from the old account to a new one - https://www.linkedin.com/psettings/account-management/merge-connections
- Create several new LinkedIn accounts and spread on your target segment.
...but sometimes LinkedIn removes this restriction without any actions from your side in 5-7 days.
Next time you'll start inviting, please, check out these tips and tricks to increase the acceptance rate:
- Use Visit & Extract profiles Action to visit 2nd & 3rd connections a couple of times before inviting, follow them via Profiles Auto-Follower or like their recent posts and articles via Like posts and articles action to warm them up.
- Write and save invitation message template:
- Personalize your message with {firstname} and / or any other built-in or custom variables: How to create message templates
- Introduce yourself and explain why you want to join his/her network;
- Add signature with your email address & phone number, but without links;

- Most people will check your profile before accepting a request. Make sure it is populated with relevant information. Even background image matters. You can find a lot of articles about how to create an appealing LinkedIn profile.
"You're out of invitations for now" / "You've reached the invitation limit" warnings
LinkedIn monitors your account for how much and how fast you do things, if they detect too much activity they may restrict your account. This may happen when you visit a lot of people in a short period of time:
Similar issues may occur if you invite a lot of profiles:
- I'm getting "You've reached the invitation limit" warning from LinkedIn
- I'm getting "You're out of invitations for now" warning from LinkedIn
Linked Helper has the ability to limit overall actions in all campaigns, as well as randomize and increase timeouts between actions, however, users have the ability to change them, so you must be careful when decreasing the numbers.
When I log in I get "Your account has been restricted"
LinkedIn wants to verify that your account is not fake. If you read LinkedIn User Agreement, you already know that LinkedIn is against sharing your account with someone else or using someone else's account:
LinkedIn is pretty tough when dealing with fake and duplicate accounts, you can check this article for more info - LinkedIn Blocked 21.6M Fake Accounts This Year…. The article was released a year ago but it is hardly that something has changed since then.
These identity verifications are quite often occurred not only to newly created accounts but to the old accounts as well. Several months ago a couple of our colleague's real accounts that have never been managed via automation tool also got restricted. In most cases, LinkedIn account restriction is lifted after the identity is verified.
Your account was suspended to verify you've performed certain actions
Some LinkedIn users are busy persons and prefer to have a virtual assistant who helps them manage their LinkedIn accounts. This is quite a common practice, but many of them do not know that sharing a LinkedIn account with anyone else is against LinkedIn User Agreement.
If an account, especially with a paid subscription, is being managed from several locations or devices at the same time, then most likely LinkedIn will notice that and send you a warning message, but they also can restrict the account temporarily:
Of course, this issue could happen with any LinkedIn account even if no automation tool is used. You can check this article for more info: Can I use LinkedIn account via browser / mobile app when Linked Helper is running?
