Previously, customers had to buy licenses manually each time current ones expired. Since October 2024, Linked Helper supports auto-billing which allows customers to decide whether they want to proceed with buying licenses manually like they previously did, or create a subscription and being charged automatically.

Create subscription
When buying a license
You can enable auto-renew option when buying license as per the How to buy a license article.
- Click the Buy new button in the upper right corner of the Licenses menu.
- Choose FastSpring as a payment system.
- In the License owner drop-down list choose whether the license should be personal or organizational:
- What is the difference between personal and organizational licenses? - Choose license type, duration, and quantity:
- Licensing: Standard and PRO licenses. Pricing and discounts. - Fill in all other mandatory fields.
- Enable Auto-renewal option at the bottom of the right-side panel and click Buy:
- In the pop-up window, review subscription charge, add a tax ID of your company if needed and complete the purchase:
Create a new subscription from within the Billing menu
- Go to Billing > Subscription.
- Choose a subscription type - for personal or organizational use:
- What is the difference between personal and organizational licenses? - Under the Information tab, click Add new license:
- Choose parameters and click Add:
- License type - Standard or PRO. Standard has all currently available functionality but some activities may be limited to 20 actions per day. Check this to learn more - Licensing: Standard and PRO licenses. Pricing and discounts
- Duration - The longer the license period is chosen, the lower price per month is.
- Quantity - we have discount for bulk purchases which is summed up with the discount for license duration.
- Double-check the order and click the Proceed to Billing information button:
- Fill in the Billing information and click Buy:
- In the pop-up window, review subscription charge, add a tax ID of your company if needed and complete the purchase:
Cancel subscription
A subscription can be cancelled from within Linked Helper Launcher or FastSpring payment account.
Note:
- when subscription is canceled, licenses purchased via this subscription are not deleted and can be used till they expired;
- inside Linked Helper, subscription can be cancelled only from within the account that was used for creating the subscription.
To cancel subscription, please:
- Go to Billing > Subscription.
- Filter subscriptions by Personal/organizational filter:
- Under the Information tab, click three-dots button next to the subscription status:
- You will be offered two options:
- To payment account - you will be forwarded to FastSpring payment account where you can manage your subscription or cancel it:
- Cancel subscription - when clicked, subscription is deactivated via Linked Helper interface:
Change subscription
Add licenses
To add a new license to a subscription, please:
- Go to Billing > Subscription.
- Find Personal/organizational subscription you need to update and open Information tab.
- If you need to add licenses of the same type and duration, click '+' (plus) button next to the number of currently available license. If you need to add licenses of a different type and/or duration, click '+Add new' button, choose type, quantity, duration of the licenses and finish the order:
To add a current license to a subscription, please:
- Navigate to the Licenses menu.
- Filter licenses using Personal/organizational filter and find a license you'd like to be auto-renewed.
- Hover mouse over the license and click + (plus) button that appeared under the Valid until column:
- Confirm the action:
- If you see the error message like in the screenshot below, then it means you don't have active subscription under the organization or for personal use, and you need to create it first as it is shown in the Create subscription section above:
Remove licenses from subscriptions
Licenses can be removed from subscriptions only on Licenses menu or LinkedIn Accounts menu.
Note: when a license is removed from a subscription, it is not deleted and can be used till it is expired.
To remove a license, please:
- Navigate to the Licenses menu.
- Filter licenses using Personal/Organization filter and find a license that should not be auto-renewed.
- Hover mouse over the license, click — (minus) button that appeared under the Valid until column and confirm the action:
Modify payment method
Payment method used in subscription can be changed only in FastSpring payment account. To change it, you need to:
- Go to Billing > Subscription.
- Filter subscriptions by Personal/organizational filter:
- Under the Information tab, click thee-dots button next to the subscription status:
- Click To payment account option. If you do not see this option, it means the subscription was created via another Linked Helper account:
- You will be forwarded to FastSpring payment account where you can manage your subscription or cancel it. Click Manage > Update payment method:
- Add a new payment method or change the default one:

Where can I get invoices for subscription charges?
Invoices can be downloaded from the Subscription menu.
- Go to Billing > Subscription.
- Change Personal/organizational filter to see your personal subscription and those assigned to your organizations.
- Switch to the Billing history tab, expand the charge you need a document for and click Get receipt.

Where can I add VAT ID?
Before creating subscription:
Add tax ID of your company before entering your payment credentials in the pop-up window:
After creating subscription:
FastSpring does not allow to change VAT ID on a customer side after purchase is made. You need to contact their support in order to add or change VAT ID.

For upcoming charges
- Open FastSpring account via this link - https://linkedhelper.onfastspring.com/account
- Enter billing email you used to create a subscription (you can find it in the Linked Helper account sub-menu or in the Billing information tab of your organization in the Organizations menu).
- Follow instructions sent from FastSpring to the email you specified.
- Once you logged in to your FastSpring payment account, open the Account Details and Payment Methods (1) tab and click Edit (2):
Why was I additionally charged?
To make license managing in subscription easier, Linked Helper shifts payments to the first day of a month.
For that, we partially charge you in the month of license expiration to extend its expiry date to the first day of the next month. After that, we will be regularly charging the full price of the license on the first day of X-month interval.
For example, I created a subscription for 9 six-month Standard licenses on 22nd of October, 2024, which means the licenses expire on 22nd of April, 2025. Linked Helper charges me $540, then shifts payment day from 22nd of April to the 1st of May, meaning next charge of $540 will be 8 days later from the expected one.
To cover that gap of 8 days, we charge you a small amount of money you would pay if the payment period was longer.
We use this formula: number of licenses * (license price / days in license) * days in gap, where license price divided by days in license gives us a daily cost of the license usage, then the daily cost is multiplied by the number of days in the gap and the number of licenses in the order.
Example:
- 9 licenses * ($60 / 183 days) * 8 days = $23.60

In Linked Helper:
- Go to Billing > Subscription.
- Change Personal/organizational filter to see your personal subscription and those assigned to your organizations:
In FastSpring:
- Open FastSpring account via this link - https://linkedhelper.onfastspring.com/account
- Enter billing email you used to create a subscription (you can find it in the Linked Helper account sub-menu or in the Billing information tab of your organization in the Organizations menu).

I have two subscriptions, FastSpring shows only one. Where do I find the other?
All your FastSpring orders and subscriptions are tied to a billing email address you specified in Linked Helper personal billing information or billing information of your organization.
If you enter different billing emails for personal and organizational licenses, then FastSpring also creates two different accounts for personal and organizational subscriptions in their system.
To find a subscription, please:
- check what emails you used for billing info for your organization and personal use:
- use those or any other emails you might have entered during purchasing with this link - https://linkedhelper.onfastspring.com/account - to log in into different FastSpring accounts that might have your subscription.
I have 10+ licenses in total but I did not get a discount. Why?
Linked Helper provides you with a bulk discount only when the following conditions are simultaneously satisfied:
- Licenses are of the same duration - 1, 3, 6, or 12 months.
- Licenses are of the same type - Standard or Pro.
- Licenses were added to the same subscription - either personal, or in subscription of certain organization.
For, example, I have a personal subscription with 1 one-month and 2 three-month Pro licenses and 4 six-months Standard licenses:
In order to get a 10% discount, I need to choose any of the options below:
- add 8 three-month Pro licenses to get $96 discount for current charge and $120 discount for upcoming ones;
- add 6 six-months Standard licenses to get $36 discount for current charge and $60 discount for upcoming ones;
- add 9 one-month Pro licenses to get $40.5 discount for current charge and $45 discount for upcoming ones.
I won't receive a discount in case:
- only 3 licenses of any type or duration were added to the subscription making total number of licenses be 10;
- 6 six-month Pro licenses (or any other option above) were bought for an organizational subscription, not personal one;
- 6 six-month Pro licenses (or any other option above) were bought via Buy new button in the Licenses menu without auto-renewal option enabled (in this case, however it is possible to add 6 licenses to the subscription manually to get 10% discount for upcoming charges, but there won't be a discount for the current charge thought):
