LinkedIn allows you to download a CSV file with information about your 1st-degree connections. However, the file does not contain the profile's email and phone numbers. But as long as such information is available on your LinkedIn 1st-degree connection profile page, it can be scraped by Linked Helper 2.
Let’s assume you need to reach out to marketing directors in the tech industry in a certain area. How do you get their email addresses if LinkedIn doesn’t allow you to view contact information for 2nd and 3rd-degree connections?
You can do it via Linked Helper 2 and:
- integration with LH Email finder - our own service that finds mostly emails associated with LinkedIn accounts of the leads (those are personal ones mostly);
- integration with Snov.io - a third-party company for searching corporate email addresses based on the company domain;
- a third party service like snov.io that allows you to search for corporate emails based on the leads' first and last names, and their companies domains, i.e. you need to scrape profiles and companies they work for and then submit the information into the email finding service.
The first two options are available by default in the Export profile information campaign. Let's review that campaign type and set up both methods.
Using integrated services
- Create a campaign using Find profile emails template:
- Go to the Workflow tab, enable 'Get email from LH Email Finder' option and agree to the terms:
- Then enable 'Get email from Snov.io' option and add your snov.io account keys from this link: https://app.snov.io/account#/integrations/linked-helper (you need to create an account with Snov.io if you don't have one). This option is not mandatory, you can use LH Email finder only or vice versa.
- As an option, you can save emails found in integration with snov.io to a list in snov.io:
- Filter and collect your leads into the Queue of your campaign. Profiles are collected from LinkedIn search in the example below, but you can get profils from many other sources available:
If both options are enabled, Linked Helper searches for profile emails using LH Email finder first, and in case no address is found, search is continied using snov.io integration.
Once emails are extracted, you can download them from the Successful list: How to download profiles from Linked Helper to a CSV file.
Using any other service that search emails by domain name
If you already have a subscription for another service that also allows you to get emails of your 2nd and 3rd-degree connections based on company domain and first and last name of the lead, then you can extract and download this information using Linked Helper 2 and Visit & Extract profiles action. For learning purposes, we will use snov.io service and break this task down into 3 parts:
- Extracting 2nd or 3rd-degree connections' data.
- Extracting organizations’ data
- Extracting emails using Snov.io or its alternatives
1. Extracting 2nd or 3rd-degree connections' data.
If you already have a list of extracted profiles, but their current companies have not been extracted yet, you can go to the step 2. Extracting companies’ data
- Create a new campaign using 'Visit and extract profiles' template:
- Enable 'Extract current organizations' option to get current company domian name:
- Filter and collect your leads into the Queue of your campaign. Profiles are collected from LinkedIn search in the example below, but you can get profils from many other sources available:
2. Extracting companies’ data of already extracted connections in the step above.
If you enabled the extraction of the profile's current organization before running Visit & Extract profiles Action as it is shown in step #3 of the p. 1. Extracting 2nd or 3rd-degree connections' data , then you can skip this part and navigate to the p. 3. Extracting emails using Snov.io.
If you did not enable the extraction of the profile's current organization or already have a list of visited and extracted profiles from earlier campaign, then you need to extract organizations separately.
For that you need to:
- Install Organizations extractor plug-in;
- Create a new campaign for organizations:
- Add companies from another campaign list. Since Linked Helper scrapes company LinkedIn URL when vising profile during inviting or messaging, you can choose profiles from the Successful list of the 'Invite 2nd and 3rd contacts' Action:
- Confirm converting profiles into organizations:
- Start the campaign to extract organizations:
- Once companies are extracted, go to the Visit and extract profiles campaign we created earlier and download extracted profiles from Successful list:
- The point is that in addition to company pages you’ll now find a column named “organization_domain_1” next to each "organization_website_1" column (you may want to delete www. part of a domain): All we need to do now is to keep columns “first_name”, “last_name” and “organization_domain_1” as columns A, B, and C respectively, and delete all others. You MAY keep more columns here, like for example links to people’s profiles and their IDs or the column with Location. But they must be placed AFTER columns A, B,C. 3. Extracting emails using Snov.io or its alternatives
Snov.io is an email finder tool which can work even you don’t install it as a Chrome extension but online: https://snov.io/email-verifier.html
Note: snov.io is a third-party company, you may need to pay for their license to get additional credits since you`re allowed to process only 50 profiles for free.
- Open Snov.io website, click on "Find emails" and then press “Bulk Email Search”
- Choose your 3-column CSV and click “Upoad”
3.3. Click “Open List”
- Then click “Find emails” and wait until it’s checked all possible emails. In green- you’ll see verified emails, in yellow- potential emails for that person
- Finally, you can export the list with emails. Just click “Download List” and choose your mode, un-tick the columns you don’t need in the file
