Limits
LinkedIn measures your daily activity and may restrict your account if you do too many actions or do them too fast no matter manually or via automation tools. That's why it's important to set up correct daily limits for Linked Helper.
With Linked Helper 2 you can:
- How to set up a limit to overall daily activity
- Set up delay settings for your campaign
- Limit certain activity in your campaign
How to set up a limit to overall daily activity
By default, Linked Helper is already set to the recommended daily limit of 150 profiles per every 24 hours. This number is chosen because your LinkedIn account should be safe if you do 150 or less actions per day - What kind of limits should I use?
To view your daily limit, please navigate to the "Limits" section of the "Settings" menu:
Here you can change or disable the limit for 24 hours activity (please note that we don't recommend removing the cap or exceeding 150 actions):
How to adjust Timeout settings for Actions in your campaign
With Linked Helper 2 with Action steps delays installed, you can set up "Delay settings" for each action in your workflow. Basically, this will define how fast Linked Helper will process a profile and how long will be the pause before going to the next profile. You can set up:
- Bunch size - the number of profiles that will be processed in one go before Action goes to sleep, and Timeout between bunches - the time during which the Action will be sleeping before proceeding with the next bunch of profiles.
- Select Text input method which also affects the speed of processing profiles. Random is chosen by default as a good alternative since it is not unusual for LinkedIn users to paste messages, especially generic ones.
- And make your own custom timeouts (please note that LinkedIn also checks for how fast you do things on LinkedIn, so we don't recommend going faster than "FAST timeouts")
How to set up a limit for a certain Action in your campaign
What if you have a workflow that consists of several actions (for e.g Invite profiles => Filter contacts => Send a message to those who accepted => Send another follow-up message in a week) and you want to make sure that Linked Helper will send only 50 invitations in this campaign, leaving the rest daily actions for messages?
In this case, you can limit certain activities in this campaign - here is the detailed instruction on how to limit your invitations by 50 profiles per day.
Advanced limits
Advanced limits allow you to limit certain types of activities of your LinkedIn account, such as endorsing, inviting, messaging, etc.
To navigate to "Advanced limits", please go to "Settings" => "Limits" in your instance window:
A list of actions available for limitation is shown below. Please, note that certain types of advanced limits are already capped if Standard license is used:
- Endorse my contacts - limit for "Endorse my contacts" action. Each endorsed profile, no matter how many skills are endorsed, is counted as one action.
- Follow/Unfollow profiles - limit for "Follow/Unfollow profiles" action. Please, note that you're already following your 1st-degree connections.
- Get Email from LH Email Finder - limit for finding emails using "LH Email Finder" option. One profile - one action, no matter how many emails are found for the profile.
- Inmail to 2nd/3rd contacts - limit for sending Inmails using "Inmail 2nd/3rd" action.
- Invite 2nd/3rd level contacts - limit for sending invitations by "Invite 2nd/3rd" action.
- Invite person to event (limited by Standard license) - limit for sending invitation to LinkedIn event by "Invite person to event" action
- Invite to group (limited by Standard license) - limit for sending invitations to group using "Invite to group" action
- Invite to follow organization (limited by Standard license) - limit for sending invitations to follow your organization by using "Invite to follow organization" action. Please, note that LinkedIn allows you to invite only about 100 profiles to each organization in total per month.
- These 4 limits below were added for compatibility purpose, but now they are not used:
Load LinkedIn page via URL
Load Recruiter page via URL
Load Sales Navigator page via URL
Load Recruiter (Talent) page via URL - Load page via URL - limit for loading any LinkedIn, Sales Navigator, or Recruiter page via URL.
- Mention person in a comment (limited by Standard license) - limits the number of profiles mentioned under a post by Boost post action.
- Message to 1st connections - overall limit for messaging profile via "Message to 1st connections " action. Since both messages to 1st-degree connections and messages with attached pictures are processed by the same action, both type of messages are counted in this limit. In other words, if this limit is set to 20 per 24 hours while Message with attached image is set to 50 per 24 hours, then you'll be able to send only 20 messages per 24 hours max.
- Message to event attendees (limited by Standard license) - limit for sending messages to those 2nd and 3rd degree connections who attend the same event.
- Message to LinkedIn group members (limited by Standard license) - limit for sending messages to group members using "Message to group members" action
- Message with attached image (limited by Standard license) - limit for sending messages to 1st connections with an attached image using "Message to 1st connections"
- Load organization via URL - limit for loading organizations on any platform via URL. LinkedIn may log you out in case you navigate on too many profiles by pasting their URLs. To avoid logouts by LinkedIn, Linked Helper can navigate to profiles or organizations in-page by typing their name in the search bar, clicking on the needed profile, and navigating through "preloaded profile", which LinkedIn gives as a result. In-page navigation will work if the profile was collected through Linked Helper or uploaded from LH CSV
- Load organization page - limit for loading any organization page on any platform via URL or In-page navigation. Has the priority over other "load organization" limits.
- Load LinkedIn organization via URL - limit for loading organizations on LinkedIn platform via their URLs
- Post liking (limited by Standard license) - limit for liking posts/articles using "Like and comment posts and articles" action. Please keep in mind that it counts not the number of processed profiles, but the number of liked posts.
- Load profile via URL - limit for loading LinkedIn, Sales Navigator, or Recruiter profile page via URL. To avoid logouts by LinkedIn, Linked Helper can navigate to profiles in-page by typing their name in the search bar, clicking on the needed profile, and navigating through "preloaded profile", which LinkedIn gives as a result. In-page navigation will work if the profile was collected through Linked Helper or uploaded from LH CSV
In-page navigation won't work in case of:
-
-
-
-
- Navigating to profiles collected from Sales Navigator
- Navigating to profiles collected from Recruiter
-
-
-
because we are not aware of situations when you are getting logged out for loading Sales Navigator or Recruiter profiles through URL.
- Load profile page - limit for loading any profile page through URL or In-page. Basically, this is a limit of how many profile pages Linked Helper can open per "x" hours. This limit has priority over all other "load profile" limits.
- Load LinkedIn profile via URL - limit for loading profiles on LinkedIn platform via URL. By default it is set to 40 per 24 hours to avoid logouts.
- Load Sales Navigator profile via URL - limit for loading Sales Navigator profiles via URL
- Load Recruiter/Talent profile via URL - limit for loading Recruiter/Talent profiles via URL
- Remove from 1st connections - limit for removing profiles from 1st connections using "Remove from 1st" action
- Send organization to Webhook - limit for sending companies to webhook through "Send organization to webhook" action.
- Send person to external CRM - limit for sending profiles to external CRM via direct integration in "Send person to external CRM" action.
- Send person to Webhook - limit for sending profiles to webhook through "Send to webhook" actions or integrations in other Linked Helper's actions (like sending replied to webhook)
It is possible to add several limitations under one activity type, thus limiting the pace of execution. For example, I want Linked Helper to be sending a message no more than 50 profiles per day, so I should add the limit of 50 actions per 24 hours for Message to 1st connections activity type:
At the same time, I do not want those 50 messages to be sent during one hour, I want to spread this type of activity over the day, so I should add another limit of 3 actions per 1 hour for Message to 1st connections activity type:
As a result, Linked Helper will be sending 3 messages each hour, but it will never send more than 50 messages per last 24 hours.
Please keep in mind that:
- Advanced limits apply to overall LinkedIn account activity, not to each campaign individually.
- These limits have priority over the daily limits, i.e. if your daily limit is 150 profiles per 24 hours, but you set the "Load profile page" limit to 1 profile per 24 hours, then Linked Helper will be visiting only 1 profile per 24 hours.
Advanced limits can be useful in these situations:
1. When you want to limit certain activity for this LinkedIn account.
For e.g, you can limit your invitations to 50 per 24 hours. In this case, as soon as you run out of "invitation credits", Linked Helper will switch to other actions of your campaign or will go to sleep mode if there is nothing else to do in this campaign. You can learn why your campaign can go to sleep mode here. You can see how many actions were already used on the same page:
If you run out of certain actions, you can also see when the next action will be available;
2. When you want to spread certain activities over the day instead of processing all profiles within a couple of hours.
For example, in the screenshot below Invite to group activity is limited to 100 actions per 24 hours. At the same time, I do not want Linked Helper 2 to fire all 100 actions within an hour but rather to spread them along the day, so I added an extra limit of 6 profiles per 1 hour, which means that Linked Helper 2 won't invite 100 profiles in a couple of hours since the campaign is started, but will be inviting 6 profiles every hour, switching to other Actions in the same or other campaign's workflow.
3. To avoid logouts.
As you may know, Linked Helper 2 is not detectable by LinkedIn, but some activity (even if it is done manually) can lead to log out for captcha.
LinkedIn may log you out if you manually navigate to ~50 LinkedIn profiles via their URLs, not via finding them in the search results. You can repeat this in the Chrome browser, manually making the right-mouse-click on the profile name and choosing "Open in new tab option".
Linked Helper 2 avoids such logouts by "in-page navigation": if a profile was collected from LinkedIn, then Linked Helper can type the name of the profile in the search bar and navigate to profile through "preloaded profile", which LinkedIn gives as a result:
But in-page navigation doesn't work if Linked Helper doesn't have the data for profile's first and last names, which usually happens when you upload URLs into Linked Helper instead of collecting profiles from search. We provided a workaround for this case: a new method called "Upload profiles from Linked Helper's CSV" allows you to upload to Linked Helper other data that is presented in CSV but only if that CSV was downloaded from Linked Helper version 1.8.23 or above and has a checksum at the end of each line. Here is the article with detailed instructions: How to upload profiles' data from Linked Helper CSV file.
Nevertheless, we recommend limiting certain activity types in order to be sure there won't be any issues with LinkedIn. With advanced limits, you can also limit navigation through URLs to avoid logouts. Please note that navigating to many organizations through URLs may also lead to the same issue:
Working Hours
Linked Helpers 2 works like a smart browser and imitates human behavior. If you navigate to the "Working hours" section of the "Settings" menu, you can set up limits and working hours for your LinkedIn account (applied to all campaigns):
By setting up working hours you can:
- Make Linked Helper 2 work for this account only on certain days by switching "24 hours" / "Do not work". As an example, on the screenshot below Linked Helpers 2 will work only on Mondays and Thursdays:
- Make Linked Helpers 2 work for this account only for a certain time period. Just click on "+", add a working period, and click on "Format and save", this schedule will be applied to all campaigns (military time format is used):
- Or add several working periods:
Also, please, keep in mind that the time is shown for the selected timezone, but changing the value of the "Shown for timezone" setting does not change the working hours themself, but only their representation.
For example, let's imagine my timezone is UTC + 0:00 ("Shown for timezone" setting is set to UTC+0:00), and Linked Helper is scheduled to work only on Wednesdays from 10 AM till 11 AM. Then I change the "Shown for timezone" setting to UTC +1:00. The working hours change from 10 AM till 11 AM to 11 AM till 12 AM, because 10 AM in UTC + 0:00 is equal to 11 AM in UTC +1:00.
In other words, when you switch timezone, working hours will not also change the start and stop time but only its representation, so if you want to change working hours, you need to adjust the values in from / to fields of certian days.

Same working hours but after switching timezone for "UTC +1:00":
