In the Proxies menu you can:
Proxy is used to change the IP address from which a LinkedIn account is being accessed. It is not needed if you are planning to run only your LinkedIn account. Please, check this article for more info: What is Proxy for? However, this is a must have for marketers who manage someone elses' LinkedIn accounts.
You can learn more about managing several LinkedIn accounts here.
Manage proxies
Add a proxy to Linked Helper
Linked Helper supports HTTP / HTTPS / SOCKS / SOCKS5 IPv4 proxy. There are no particular recommendations on proxy service providers. You must buy a private, not shared proxy. As for the type, you can choose Datacenter, Residential or ISP option (whatever is cheaper).
We use proxies from these providers:
- https://proxy-seller.com/?partner=ogX2VuviOfibIq (IPv6 proxies from this provider works in Linked Helper because IPv6 is implemented there as a tunnel from IPv4 to IPv6);
- https://proxy6.net/en/e/164120 (IPv6 proxies from this provider works in Linked Helper because IPv6 is implemented there as a tunnel from IPv4 to IPv6).
However, these providers are not the only ones you can use and we cannot guarantee the stability of these third party companies, so you can find another one you personally prefer.
You need to navigate to "Proxies" and click "Add new"
Let's imagine that your proxy is 14.45.346.234:8000 for example. You need to insert 14.45.346.234 in the "Ip/hostname" field and 8000 in the "Port" field, enter your proxy login and password if you have, and click "Test and save":
After that, Linked Helper tests your proxy and if it's working well, this message will be shown:
If there is any issue with the proxy, an error message will be shown and you won't be able to save the proxy that does not work:
Assign a proxy to a LinkedIn account
- Navigate to the Proxies section in the Launcher menu.
- Hover mouse over the proxy and click on Assign to LinkedIn accounts button.
- Choose an instance from the list.
- Click Assign button.
You can assign one proxy to multiple accounts, but we do not recommend doing that as it may be dangerous for your account.
Edit already added proxy
- Navigate to the Proxies section in the Launcher menu.
- Hover mouse over the proxy and click on Assign to LinkedIn accounts button.
- Change settings and click Test and save button:
If there is any issue with the proxy, an error message will be shown and you won't be able to apply the changes to the proxy.
Archive proxy
If you do not need your proxy anymore, you can archive it. Select your proxy and press "Archive".
Archived proxies can still be used by LinkedIn accounts, but you'll be able to see them only by using the "Archived" or "Any" filters.
Check whether the proxy is working or not
Via Linked Helper
Linked Helper has a built-in function to test the proxy. When you choose a proxy and click the Test connection button, Linked Helper tries to open the LinkedIn login web page to check whether it can be loaded without any issue.
Via third-party services
If you are experiencing network errors while using proxy servers, then you should know that most of the time it's not a Linked Helper 2 fault. You can use proxy6.net web site or any other web site to check if your proxy server is working. Please, follow these steps:
- Open https://proxy6.net/en/checker
- Insert your proxy credentials:
For example, if your proxy is 14.45.346.234, the port is 8000. Your login is qwer and password zxcv, then you need no type it in like that:
- Click "Check proxy"
- Then, scroll down a little and see the results of your test. If your proxy is working, it should look like this:
- If your proxy is working, please try to access LinkedIn with your regular web browser to make sure that LinkedIn can be accessed with your proxy server:
Via Chrome browser
As it was already mentioned, Linked Helper needs a LinkedIn website to be accessible via proxy. If the proxy test via Linked Helper fails, you can check the proxy via Chrome browser to be 100% sure the issue is not caused by Linked Helper.
In order to do that, please:
- Install Best Proxy Switcher extension that allows to apply the proxy directly to Chrome: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/lgkgpmoglpemohmihphdaljcjnfkndoi
- Click on the extension icon and then on Import proxy list menu:
- Add your proxy credentials to the list, one proxy - one line, in the format of login:password@IP:port, for example:
login:password@192.168.0.1:2000
- make sure all other VPN / proxy extensions or programs are switched off and try to open LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/
You can try the software for free during 14 days - download it and activate a free trial.
