Linked Helper is safe and secure - Is Linked Helper detectable - and LinkedIn can not detect our automation by technical means. However, they still can notice unusual behavior or settings of your LinkedIn account.
Our tool already had many options that mask behavioral patterns but have recently got extra features that can make usage even more secure. Although some of them, such as Smart Daily Limit Adjustments or Start time randomization, are enabled by default, others need to be activated manually.
This article provides you with the best practices and guidelines of setting up LinkedIn accounts in Linked Helper, from proxy till messaging and campaigns' structure, no matter whether you're a new user or already manage a bunch of accounts for your clients.

When adding an account
Proxy
LinkedIn pays attention to login sessions of your account, i.e. they check the time zone of your system and compare it to the time zone of the IP address, check IP address abuse activity, etc.
If you're managing your own LinkedIn account on your own computer, then there is nothing to worry about and you can move forward to the next section of the article.
However, if you're running a) your own account on a VPS/dedicated server; b)several LinkedIn accounts from different countries on your computer; c) accounts of your colleagues on a dedicated server in another location, then it's better to add and assign dedicated proxy to every LinkedIn account.
Linked Helper supports HTTP / HTTPS / SOCKS / SOCKS5 IPv4 proxy. You can use any reliable proxy provider, just make sure the IP addresses you buy meet the criteria below.
Things to keep in mind:
- ISP (internet service provider), mobile, and residential proxies are preferable. Try avoiding datacenter proxies.
- Dedicated IP address is preferable over dynamically updated one.
- Always check proxy quality as LinkedIn is assessing IP addresses connections are going from. You can use https://www.ipqualityscore.com/user/proxy-detection-api/lookup service (they claim LinkedIn uses them as well) to assess proxy quality.
The 'Recent Abuse' and 'Bot activity' must be set to false, as well as it's highly recommended using those with 'Proxy Status' and 'VPN status' set to 'false', and the Fraud Score to be lower than 75: - Make sure the country you see in your account settings (https://www.linkedin.com/mypreferences/d/user-sessions) corresponds to the country you mentioned in your LinkedIn account:
- If you're managing someone else's LinkedIn account, it would be much better to ask LinkedIn accounts owners to use separate browser instance and the same proxy you use, so every log in to the account to be made from the same IP address. They can use Chrome extensions that are able to change the IP address of one particular Chrome instance - "proxy switcher" extensions in Chrome Web Store.
If you want to get examples of proxy providers, you can check the Proxy and server providers section of the Special offers article for more info. However, those providers are not the only ones you can use and we cannot guarantee the stability of these third party companies, so you can find another one you personally prefer.

Time zone
If you use LinkedIn accounts with proxy, you also need to make sure the time zone of the proxy matches the time zone set for your LinkedIn account. If you did not find the exact time zone that corresponds to the proxy location, you can choose the closest one instead.
You can check proxy time zone using the same link we mentioned above - https://www.ipqualityscore.com/user/proxy-detection-api/lookup:
The time zone can be set when account is added:
Or you can edit it any time later in the Edit LinkedIn credentials menu:

Working schedule
Naturally, no human is capable of inviting 2nd-degree connections and sending follow-up messages to recently added 1st-degree connections via two via Chrome browsers or mobile apps at the same time.
This behavior looks suspicious for LinkedIn, that's why we urge our customers to avoid simultaneous activity in one and the same LinkedIn account from different programs (browsers, mobile apps, etc.), no matter whether those are on the same PC / use the same IP address or not, as this leads to exceeded daily limits and simultaneous activity from different login sessions.
If you manage someone else's LinkedIn account(s), agree with your client on days and hours when you can work on his or her account using Linked Helper, and time slots when they can access their LinkedIn accounts themselves. Set up Working Hours for LinkedIn account (you can enable Action working hours plug-in for more customization) to avoid simultaneous activity. It is not necessary to log out every time when LinkedIn account is used by Linked Helper, but all LinkedIn tabs must be closed.
Additionally, it is recommended to increase Start time randomization value that will add random delay to the start time from the range you specified, which will allow you to randomize activity time and make your campaigns more human like:
Safe limits
LinkedIn monitors your daily activity and not only general profile page visits but separate activity types, such as inviting or messaging, as well.
Linked Helper has Advanced limits with safe numbers set by default for inviting, visiting profile pages, opening URLs, etc. that help us keep your account safe - What kind of limits should I use?
We also introduced Smart Daily Limit Adjustment option that allows you to randomize the amount of actions made per 24 hours to avoid even numbers throughout the week.
The gap of 10% is used by default, which means with 50 invites per 24 hours, Linked Helper will be sending from 90% till 100% of the limit (40 - 50 per day).
You can increase both the limit and its adjustment to make Linked Helper using bigger range, i.e. with 60 invites and 25%, Linked Helper will be sending from 45 to 60 invites per day (75% - 100%):
When setting up a campaign
Safe timeouts
Apart from randomizing default limits, Linked Helper also randomizes timeouts between every micro step it does when processing profiles (click Search field > type profile name > choose the profile from listed options > click profile card in the search results > etc).
By default, we use FAST timeouts that have been proven safe, but for new LinkedIn accounts, longer delays may be needed.
You can install Action steps delays plug-in and switch to SAFE ones for more security or for warming up newly created accounts or those accounts that haven't been used manually for a while:
Message randomization
LinkedIn is aware the technical means they use are not always effective against automation tools, hence they are inspecting messages and search for patterns: similar structure, significant part of sent invites and messages being identical to each other, etc.
Message randomization makes your outreach look natural as every lead receive slightly different (or completely different, depending on the level of randomization) message.
We recommend having at least two different variants of a message, each one having several parts mixed with spintax and built-in or custom variables.
Check this for more details: How to create message templates.
Spintax
Spintax is a technique used to generate multiple unique variations of a text from a single base, where a part of the sentence is randomly chosen from a pool of phrases.
In Linked Helper, blocks of similar phrases can be added into any place of a message:
Variations
Even though spintax is quite powerful, you're still limited in terms of message base and structure. Message variations allow you to create two or more messages that look completely different though they have the same meaning:
Custom variables and IF THEN ELSE clauses
Even though both options provide you with enough flexibility, we recommend using custom and built-in variables with IF THEN ELSE clauses that not only make your messages more randomized but also personalize them which increases acceptance and reply rates:
Complex combinations
A thought about using all these options in one messaging action probably already crossed your mind. If it did not, then we are 100% sure it now has while you were reading this line. The possibility of using spintax inside variations or custom/built-in variables inside spintax is implemented in Linked Helper, and the article below contains more of such examples:
Of course, combining many options together brings complexity, so you need to be careful and double-check the messages using Message preview before running live campaigns.
Campaign structure
Not only repetitive message texts and number of actions can alert LinkedIn detection algorithms. When creating campaigns, users must address the structure of campaign and the activity types used in it.
Homogeneous account activity which consists only of invitations and follow-up messages not only looks like a bot behavior to LinkedIn, it also does not allow you to discover full potential of automation and convert most of the leads in a campaign. We recommend adding warm-up steps to your campaigns to make activity the tool makes in your account more diverse.
You can use ready to go templates such as Message chain to warmed-up 1st connections template and How to warm-up, invite, and follow-up 2nd and 3rd-degree connection or add liking, endorsing, following actions in a workflow manually - How to create a new campaign in Linked Helper:
- Follow profiles - this action will trigger LinkedIn notification to profiles that you started to follow their pages.
- Delay between actions - one day delay just to give some time to profiles to check notifications from LinkedIn.
- Like and comment posts and articles - this action will trigger LinkedIn notification to profiles that you liked their content.
- Delay between actions - again, provide profiles with a time to check and notice you.
- Invite 2nd and 3rd level contacts - send an invitation asking to join your network.
- Filter contacts out of my network will move further only those who accepted your invite.
- Delay between actions - make a pause for a couple of days after invitation is accepted to avoid being too persistent.
- Message to 1st connections - your initial follow-up.
- Check for replies - checks whether the profile responded and moves profile to the next action in X days if it did not.
- Endorse my contacts - endorse a couple of profile's skills before sending another message.
- Message to 1st connections - your 2nd follow-up.
- Check for replies - checks whether the profile responded and moves profile to the next action in X days if it did not.
- Like and comment posts and articles - this action will trigger LinkedIn notification to profiles that you liked their content.
- Message to 1st connections - your 3rd follow-up.
- Check for replies
- Etc.
When using LinkedIn manually
Any social network account can be accessed from different devices, and LinkedIn is not an exception. Since our tool cannot control LinkedIn account activities done manually by you or account owner via a regular Chrome browser or mobile app, you need to make sure to follow best practices of this article:
