Currently, Linked Helper cannot collect URLs from some pages. However, as a workaround, you can upload the URLs from this page via standard Linked Helper function - uploading URLs.
It is not as convenient as automatic collecting, but it will allow you to upload links without need to copy and paste them one by one or making another search, hence saving your time and effort.
You can collect:
From pages with profile links
Some LinkedIn pages contain links to profiles in their HTML code, and it is possible to get those links uploaded into Linked Helper.
To identify whether the page contains links to profiles shown on it, simply click any profile name. If you're redirected to the profile page, then it means the link is here and can be uploaded into Linked Helper.
To add profiles URLs from such a page, you need to:
Open the page where you want to collect URLs from in your browser. Let's take Jobs tab of the Notifications page as an example - https://www.linkedin.com/notifications/?filter=jobs_all.
-
Scroll the page down till all the profiles you'd like to add have been loaded and shown.
Please, note that:
if there is a pagination (i.e. there are pages with results as you get in a usual LinkedIn search), then you need to save each page with results separately, i.e. repeat steps 2 - 6 for every page;
if there is infinite scrolling (results are being loaded as you scroll down, like in the News feed or Notifications page), then you need to scroll down as deep as possible to fetch as many results as possible before saving the page;
with infinite scrolling, it is not possible to start working from the place you stopped at after the page is closed or another page is opened.
Make right-click on any place on the page.
- Choose Save as option:
- Save the page as Web page, Complete:
Upload the HTML file as per the instruction in this article: How to Upload Profiles URLs into Linked Helper?
From Messaging page
Unlike other pages, Messaging page contains links links to chats instead of links to profiles. As a result, saving messaging page into HTML is not enough.
Although there are no profiles links available in HTML code, scraping chat participants is still possible thought a bit trickier. You can get profile URLs in XHR requests when loading list of chats.
Please, note that this method may consume lots of RAM, so it's better to close other programs.
To collect chat participants, please:
Open Chrome.
Install auto-scroll extension, for example, this one - https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/autoscroll-20/kkgmmlflilcfcogmfpnhakfamdkdcbpl
Disable Focused Inbox via this page - https://www.linkedin.com/mypreferences/d/settings/focused-inbox
-
Open Messaging page - https://www.linkedin.com/messaging/ - and filter messages if needed. Please, keep in mind that:
if you use Starred filter, for example, then only starred chat participants will be scraped;
participants of Archived chats won't be collected if Inbox is chosen, you need to filter and scrape them separately.
Open Developer Tools by pressing F12 button.
-
Prepare Developer Tools for data collection:
Open Network tab.
Enable Disable cache and Preserve log options.
Add a voyagerMessagingGraphQL striing into Filter field
Filter requests by Fetch/XHR option:
-
Start scrolling chats. If you use extension above, you can use mouse-wheel click or other available option you find in extension settings:
Hover mouse over the list of chats and press mouse wheel button:
Once you see the scroll button over chats, move mouse down to initiate scrolling:
-
Once you scrolled to the end of the list, Export HAR file to your desktop and add .txt at the end of the name:
Open the file in a text editor.
Replace \" with a space:
Save the document.
Upload the file as per the instruction in this article: How to Upload Profiles URLs into Linked Helper?
