Create a new campaign
- In the Campaign menu, click plus button to create a new campaign, choose "Message chain to warmed-up 1st connections" template, click Create and follow the steps to create a needed amount of messages that will be sent to your 1st-degree connections:
Follow the steps of campaign generator:
- Add an action that will be visiting profiles so they will receive a notification about you viewing their pages in LinkedIn. If you don't want to do that, you can select 'I don't want to visit people before messaging' check box:
- Here you can enable liking post and articles action. For that, deselect the 'I don't want to visit people before messaging' checkbox. By default, Linked Helper likes 2 latest posts and 2 latest articles.
- Set your 1st message. By default, the time between visiting/liking and the 1st message is 1 day, but you can change it to any other number of days. 1 - 3 days delay is a good option:
- Endorsing skills is a good way to catch lead's attention to your profile and messages as well:
- Set up a follow-up message. It could be a reminder or any additional information lead may find helpful. Again, consider increasing delay between the messages in order to avoid being intrusive.
- Another liking activity. To add it, deselect the 'I don't want to visit people before messaging' checkbox. If you want to use two liking action in the workflow, we recommend decreasing number of posts and articles to like. This can be done in the actions' settings after the campaign is created.
- Set up your 2nd reminder or follow-up message. Keep in mind that short messages are more likely to be answered.
- Two follow-up messages are usually enough, so we click Finish button at this step:
Filter and collect leads for messaging
Once campaign is created, Linked Helper offers you to add leads to the newly created campaign.
Note: Linked Helper doesn't have its own filters for collecting from LinkedIn it uses those of LinkedIn search, hence you need to finely filter profiles in LinkedIn search to get most qualified leads - How to filter and collect profiles via Linked Helper
For that, you need to:
- Click Continue button:
- Choose source. We will be collecting from LinkedIn, so you need to click on LinkedIn website:
- You can collect all your 1st-degree connections in one go from My network page, but there are no filters there. You can use LinkedIn, Sales Navigator, or Recruiter search pages to filter profiles by the criteria you need. Let's choose regular LinkedIn:
- You will be redirected to LinkedIn or other platform search page after clicking the "Load page" button:
- As it was already mentioned, Linked Helper relies on LinkedIn filters and simply collects all fetched profiles, so you need to make sure you utilize them to the maximum and precisely filter out profiles you wish to send messages to:
- After applying all the required filters, begin collecting process by clicking ‘Collect’ in the left menu and choosing the ’from current page’ option:

Review leads
You can check the collected contacts in the Queue list:
There you can:
- exclude (with Exclude list plug-in installed) some contacts in case you for some reason do not want to invite them - How to exclude contacts from a campaign in LH 2?;
- delete them;
- tag them (with Tagging system plug-in installed);
- download to create a file with custom variables and upload them into LH2 (with Custom template variables plug-in installed).

Review Actions settings
Let's overview the campaign workflow and Actions' settings. For that you need to click Campaign menu and navigate to the Workflow tab.
There are several Actions here, 11 in our case as we added 3 follow-up messages and all warm-up actions offered:
- Visit & Extract profiles - visits profile pages and scrapes their information.
- Like and comment posts and articles - opens profile's activity page and likes recent posts and articles.
- Delay between actions - keeps profiles in its Queue to make a delay between liking and messaging.
- Message to 1st connections sends the initial message.
-
Check for replies monitors replies to the messages sent via the previous messaging Action.
Note:
- Replied contacts will be moved to the Replied sub-list and this is the ending point of the campaign for them, even if you have other Actions in your workflow below. If you want them to receive the next message despite the fact that they replied, you can either replace Check for replies with Delay between actions and disable 'Reject if profile replied after' setting of the next Action, or your can manually retry profiles as per this article - How to send a follow-up message to the profile even if he or she replied
- If no reply found within a specified period of time, a profile is moved to the "Successful" list and further down in the workflow, and his replies to the previously sent message won't be checked anymore.
- Check for replies action searches for replies from the profile only in one platform where the previous message was sent; it does not check a messaging history in several platforms. - Endorse my contacts
-
Message to 1st connections sends a follow-up only those who received your initial message.
Note:
- By default, it does not send the follow-up to those who replied anything after previous message or who received a manual message from you before. You can change this behaviour in the Message analyzer tab of the Action.
- It's possible to send those who replied to external CRM using Send replied to Webhook plug-in. - Check for replies monitors replies to the messages sent via the previous messaging Action.
- Like and comment posts and articles - opens profile's activity page and likes recent posts and articles.
-
Message to 1st connections sends another follow-up only those who received your previous message.
Note:
- By default, it does not send the follow-up to those who replied anything after previous message or who received a manual message from you before. You can change this behaviour in the Message analyzer tab of the Action.
- It's possible to send those who replied to external CRM using Send replied to Webhook plug-in. -
Check for replies monitors replies to the messages sent via the previous messaging Action.
Note:
- If this is the last step in the Workflow, then by default, the "never" setting is activated which means the Action continues checking for replies for contacts in the Queue and never moves them to the Successful list. If you add another Action below, then the "never" option is uncheck automatically and the delay is set to 1 day.
You can delete unnecessary actions, for example, if you want to send only one message, or you can add another messaging action at the end in case you'd like to send the fourth message. Please, check this instruction for more info: How to create a new campaign in LH2?
Every action can be enhanced with plug-ins providing extra functionality - Plug-in Store.
Run the campaign
This is the last and the most enjoyable part. Double-check that you collected all the right profiles, check your message template, and run the campaign. Let’s hope that you won’t wait for the response for too long!
You can export information for successfully processed contacts as a CSV file:
- Open the Successful list for the needed action.
- Click Select all and Download.
- Choose the needed delimiters and hit the Download button.
You can find the full article here: How to download profiles from Linked Helper to a CSV file. Unfortunately, MS Excel doesn’t support CSV files in the same way as .xslx files. But I still able to open any CSV file with MS Excel - How to Import CSV file into MS Excel?
