With the help of Linked Helper 2, you can create message chains to your 1st connections using the Message to 1st connections function. This campaign is a must for sellers who want to reprocess their existing 1st-degree connections.
In this article, you'll learn how to send several messages with different time intervals to your 1st-degree connections within one campaign.
Create a new campaign.
- Click the Create new campaign button in the Campaign menu:
- Give your campaign a name, choose the "Messaging sequence" template, and click the Create button:
Follow the steps of campaign generator:
- Set the template of the 1st message: How to create message templates
- If you'd like to send a follow-up message, remove the checkbox from the 'I don't want to send 2nd follow-up message' option:
Here you can set up your 2nd message template and a delay between the messages: - If you'd like to send another follow-up, remove the check box again and set up a delay and message temple, if you don't want to send any follow-ups, you can finish campaign creation by clicking the Finish button:
Filter and collect leads for messaging
Once the campaign is created, Linked Helper offers you to add leads to the newly created campaign.
Note: Linked Helper doesn't have its own filters for collecting from LinkedIn it uses those of LinkedIn search, hence you need to finely filter profiles in LinkedIn search to get the most qualified leads - How to filter and collect profiles via Linked Helper
For that, you need to:
- Click the Continue button:
- Choose source. We will be collecting from LinkedIn, so you need to click on LinkedIn website:
- You can collect all your 1st-degree connections in one go from the My network page, but there are no filters there. You can use LinkedIn, Sales Navigator, or Recruiter search pages to filter profiles by the criteria you need. Let's choose regular LinkedIn:
- You will be redirected to LinkedIn or other platform search page after clicking the "Load page" button:
- As was already mentioned, Linked Helper relies on LinkedIn filters and simply collects all fetched profiles, so you need to make sure you utilize them to the maximum and precisely filter out profiles you wish to send messages to:
- After applying all the required filters, begin the collecting process by clicking ‘Collect’ in the left menu and choosing the ’from current page’ option:

Review leads
You can check the collected contacts in the Queue list:

- tag them (with the Tagging system plug-in installed);

Review Actions settings
Let's overview the campaign workflow and Action settings. For that, you need to click the Campaign menu and navigate to the Workflow tab:
There are several Actions here, 4 in our case as we only added 2 messages into this campaign:
- Message to 1st connections sends the initial message.
- Check for replies monitors replies to the messages sent via the previous messaging Action.
Note:
- Replied contacts will be moved to the Replied sub-list and this is the ending point of the campaign for them, even if you have other Actions in your workflow below. If you want them to receive the next message even though they replied, you can either replace Check for replies with Delay between actions and disable the 'Reject if profile replied after' setting of the next Action, or you can manually retry profiles as per this article - How to send a follow-up message to the profile even if he or she replied
- If no reply is found within a specified period of time, a profile is moved to the "Successful" list and further down in the workflow, and his replies to the previously sent message won't be checked anymore.
- Check for replies action searches for replies from the profile only in one platform where the previous message was sent; it does not check a messaging history in several platforms. - Message to 1st connections sends a follow-up only to those who received your initial message.
Note:
- By default, it does not send the follow-up to those who replied anything after the previous message or who received a manual message from you before. You can change this behavior in the Message analyzer tab of the Action.
- It's possible to send those who replied to external CRM using Send replied to Webhook plug-in. - Check for replies monitors replies to the messages sent via the previous messaging Action.
Note:
- If this is the last step in the Workflow, then by default, the "never" setting is activated which means the Action continues checking for replies for contacts in the Queue and never moves them to the Successful list. If you add another Action below, then the "never" option is unchecked automatically and the delay is set to 1 day.
Every action can be enhanced with plug-ins providing extra functionality - Plug-in Store.
Adjust workflow
If you do not want to send follow-up messages, you can delete those actions:
Or vice versa, if you'd like to send another (third, fourth, etc) follow-up, you can easily add it and set up a delay:

Run the campaign
This is the last and the most enjoyable part. Double-check that you collected all the right profiles, check your message template, and run the campaign. Let’s hope that you won’t wait for the response for too long!
You can export information for successfully processed contacts as a CSV file:
- Open the Successful list for the needed action.
- Click Select all and Download.
- Choose the needed delimiters and hit the Download button.
You can find the full article here: How to download profiles from Linked Helper to a CSV file. Unfortunately, MS Excel doesn’t support CSV files in the same way as .xslx files. But I still able to open any CSV file with MS Excel - How to Import CSV file into MS Excel?
