How to add personalized images to your messages from Hyperize – Linked Helper

With Hyperise, you can create images with dynamic layers such as logos, website screenshots, maps, QR Codes, profile images, and text options like first/last name, business name, job title, category, and more. Hyper-personalization is a killer feature for marketers who concentrated on social media.

A few things that you need to keep in mind when adding or editing the Hyperise images:

If you alter your image template, then the changes will affect only those messages that were sent after the image was altered. Your old messages won't be affected.
If you need to add a custom first name to your image, it's better to create a custom variable on Hyperize for those custom names in order to avoid confusion.

You can use already existing templates, but for a better understanding of how this all works, we create a new personalized image from scratch.

How to create an image from scratch to add it to Linked Helper

Open your main Hyperise screen and press on "Images".

Select a predefined message template or create a new one. In this tutorial, we will create a new one from scratch.

Once you've just created your image, click at the center of the screen to set the canvas background image.

Select any picture that you like from the menu or you can upload a new one:

After you've selected your image, you can adjust its size and background color in the "Canvas settings" section:

To add a text to your image, you need to select the "Text" block from the left panel and drag it to your picture. You will be able to adjust the size of your block:

To write anything in your text block, you need to double click on the block and enter your text:

In the "Layers" section you can rename your text block, change the size, font, and color of your text:

If you want to add additional text, you can duplicate your text block so you won't have to customize your text again:

Now, we need to add first and last name variables. To do that, we need to delete the old text and select our variables from the "Merge tags" section. You can also adjust the size of your text so it would match the image size:

You can preview your image to make sure that everything will be displayed correctly:

After you are done customizing your image, you need to press "Save", and then activate the draft by clicking the "Draft" button. Note: you'll be asked to verify your email if you haven't already.

After your image is saved, we need to get its URL to add it to Linked Helper 2. At the bottom of your screen, you will find the "Get code" button. You need to press it and select the Linked Helper 2 integration to get your link You will be also able to add a landing page to your picture:

Install Attach personalized images plug-in
Go to your message temple and enable "Hyperise" option of "Attachement image URL" setting:

Paste your link to the "Hyperise" section of the message template. After you've inserted your link, a preview of the image should be loaded, as well as the list of Hyperise variables. You can set the LinkedIn variables value to check the results:

If you've made any adjustments in Hyperise, saved your new image, and inserted a new link to it to LH2, but changes have not been displayed, then you can press on the "Update" button near the "Attachment image":

Each Hyperise variable is the variable that you've added during the creation of your personalized image. You can assign Linked Helper 2 variables to Hyperise ones, thus creating personalized images with the help of Linked Helper 2 data:

How to add a profile's avatar to the image using custom variables

As it was already mentioned, Hyperise allows you to add dynamic layers such as logos, website screenshots, profile images, etc. to the image itself, so the layer can be unique per the image. In this part, we show how to do that using Linked Helper's custom fields. As an example, we will add a "Profile" block to your message template. This will allow us to personalize our image with the avatar of the connection to whom the message will be sent to.

To add the "Profile image" block to your template, simply drag it to your picture:

Save your image template and add a link to it to your message template.

You'll notice that there are no variables that we can use to add a link to an avatar of your 1st connection. Unfortunately, Hyperise does not include such variables, so we'll need to do that ourselves. You need to press "Add variable", and type "custom_image_1" into the field of your new variable. You can test it with an image link:

However, we want the profile picture to be unique for each contact. You can do that with the help of custom variables and CSV files.

Make sure you have Custom template variables plug-in installed
Download your contacts from the Queue of your action or campaign - How to download profiles from Linked Helper to a CSV file
Upload the same CSV back as a file with custom variables back into the same Queue:
