General information
The 'Action working hours' plug-in provides you with the ability to set a custom schedule that affects only certain actions. Please note that for an action both schedules are of equal priority which means the action won't work in the case at least one schedule forbids the activity.
To enable it please:
- Navigate to the Plug-in Store menu.
- Find Action working hours plug-in and click Install button:
- Once plug-in is installed, Action working hours setting appear on the right side of every Action:
Use case
In case you have the 'Multi campaign runner' plug-in installed and several campaigns running, you may want to give one campaign priority. For example, your 1st inviting campaign should run only on Mondays, while the 2nd inviting campaign should run every business day except Monday. For that, you need to adjust the schedule for every action of both campaigns.
Another use case is when Linked Helper should send invitations around the clock since the invitee does not see the time the invite was sent. However, all the follow-up messages must go out only during business hours from 9 AM till 6 PM as it looks suspicious to receive a message from someone in the middle of the night.
Detailed description
The main difference between the global schedule in the Settings section and Action working hours schedule is that the former affects every action in any campaign, while the 'Action working hours' plug-in provides you with the ability to set a custom schedule that affects only certain actions.
The important thing to keep in mind is that in case you have both schedules enabled, then actions will only be active when both schedules allow activity, i.e. action is active only during intersections in time. Let's check these examples:
I. Action working hours are within global schedule:
- Global schedule working hours: from 9AM till 6PM
- Action working hours: from 10AM till 5PM
Result: the action will be active only from from 10AM till 5PM as per the Action working hours schedule.
II. Global schedule working hours are within Action working hours:
- Global schedule working hours: from 11AM till 2PM
- Action working hours: from 7AM till 8PM
Result: the action will be active only from from 11AM till 2PM as per the Global schedule working hours.
III. There is an intersection between Global schedule working hours and Action working hours:
- Global schedule working hours: from 8AM till 1PM
- Action working hours: from 11AM till 4PM
Result: the action will be active only from from 11AM till 1PM, during the time both Global schedule working hours and Action working hours intersect.
VI. There is NO intersection between Global schedule working hours and Action working hours:
- Global schedule working hours: from 5AM till 7AM
- Action working hours: from 11AM till 4PM
Result: the action won't be active at all.
