Generic invitation and follow-up messages usually mean low conversion rates. While message variations, spintax, and IF-THEN-ELSE clauses can make messages look a bit more randomized and natural, they do not provide a deep level of personalization. Custom variables do, yet they demand lots of manual work.
This is where the new action stands out. AI message personalization allows you to automate the process of generating custom messages based on profile data.
Note: the step is available only as a part of Invite and follow-up template.
Generation settings
Here you can:
- set the general goal of the reach out;
- set target language;
- choose tone of voice;
- set goal per message, if you decided to send several follow-up messages;
- enable Auto-approve option to send messages without manual review.
Profile data used by AI
To create custom messages, AI needs relevant data to rely upon.
You can choose what data to use for message generation. By clicking Edit button, you navigate to the section that allows you either to choose from pre-built templates or create a custom list of required data which will later be scraped by Linked Helper.
Note: if data field status is required yet no such data is scraped for a profiles from LinkedIn or fetched from Linked Helper Data Enrichment, then such profile will be moved into Failed list.
Profile data settings
There are two options to get the data needed for AI messages generation:
- Data Enrichment - Linked Helper's internal service that allows customers to get profile and company data of LinkedIn profiles. Works instantly, but not all information can be found. Linked Helper populates data fields of the profile in your account using the data from our server without visiting LinkedIn profiles and saving more time for other valuable activity such as inviting or messaging.

Visit and Extract - Linked Helper's action that visits profiles one by one in LinkedIn and scrapes all available information from their pages. Works slower and has daily limits, but scrapes all information from profile pages.
No enrichment option allows you to skip this step if you are sure the profiles already have been enriched or have the needed data scraped.
When Data Enrichment is chosen, you can set Visit and Extract action as a fallback to ensure all needed data is scraped.
How it works
As it was mentioned previously, this action is currently available only via Invite and follow-up template. In simple words, you need to set up message goals, data fields that will be used for message generation, and profiles' data enrichment method in case data is not scraped yet. After doing this, you need to collect profiles into your campaign and run it.
Once campaign creation is initated, you'll be offered to choose a messaging flow:

For LinkedIn Premium users there is no personalized invitation limit on LinkedIn side, so Linked Helper can generate AI invitation note as well. You can choose the second option if you want to automate only follow-up message generation:

Set up campaign general goal, number of messages, language and tone of voice:

- Enable auto-approving for generated messages. We recommend leaving it disabled till you're sure the prompts you set generate good messages:

- Data freshness allows you to avoid awkward situations with sending irrelevant message because the data was too old and did not reflect recent changes of a lead experience, for example:
- With Data Enrichment chosen, there is an option to set a fallback in case no data is found in Linked Helper's database:
After this quick set up, you will need to collect profiles into your campaign and start it. Once campaign is activated, Linked Helper will:
- Check what data fields should be used for message generation and collected missing ones if needed.
- Generate messages as per the goals you set up.
- If Auto-approve option is disabled, messages will be sent as drafts in AI Drafts tab of the Campaign Inbox, where you need to review them:
Or edit before approval: - Once reviewed and/or edited, a message needs to be manually approved. All messages can be approved in bulk if needed:
- Linked Helper will move profiles with approved messages to the next action for processing.

No, you cannot do that at the moment, but we will definitely implement this option in the future.

Although the AI personalized messages action is only available in the Invite and follow-up template, there is a workaround you can use:
- Choose Invite and follow-up template and proceed with campaign creation.

- While setting up the campaign and messaging goals, keep in mind that you're creating them for your 1st-degree connections.
- Finish the setup and collect profiles.
- Navigate to the Workflow tab and delete both Invite 2nd and 3rd level contacts and Filter contacts out of my network (keep 1st level only) actions.
Can I add more AI-generated follow-ups after campaign is created?
No, the number of follow-up messages can be set up only during campaign creation. However, you can always add a follow-up with regular template.
How many follow-ups can be set in a campaign Workflow?
The overall limit for AI-generated messaging actions is 7 and the number of follow-ups depends whether the invitation text is AI-personalized:
- If you start your campaign with AI personalized invitation (for LinkedIn Premium, Recruiter, and Sales Navigator users) then you can create up to 6 follow-ups.
- If you start your campaign without AI personalized invitation note, then you can create up to 7 follow-ups.
How many profiles can I process per campaign?
The number of generated messages is limited only by your AI credit balance. Even if you're out of credits, you can always buy more.
What happens if I'm out of AI credits?
Linked Helper will stop generating new messages for those who are in the Profiles to process of the AI personalized messages action. However, profiles with already generated messages will be processed as usual.
Can I modify general goal and messaging goals once campaign is set up?
Yes, you can do that but you need to keep in mind that the changes will be applied only to the profiles only. Profiles for whom messages have already been generated won't be updated.
Can I modify AI-generated messages manually?
Yes, there are two ways of doing that.
1. Inside AI drafts. This option available if you have Auto-approve AI messages option disabled.
- Open campaign and navigate to the AI draft tab of the campaign inbox.

Find a profile whose message you want to modify, and click any message to see the drafts:

2. Inside profile's custom variables:
- Open campaign, navigate to the Processing list to find the profile. If there is no wanted profile there, check other lists. For example, if profile already received a message and replied, it can be found in the Replied list.
- Click profile's name, and scroll down to Custom variables section.
- Here you can modify the text of the ai_message variable:
Can I regenerate messages once they have been approved?
No, it is not possible to regenerate messages, but you can modify them as it is mentioned above.
Why my campaign shown as completed though it' been started only recently?
With Auto-approve AI messages option disabled in the AI personalized messages action, Linked Helper moves profiles with generated messages into AI draft tab of the campaign Inbox.
You need to:
- manually approve messages either one by one or in bulk in order for Linked Helper to move them to the next action;
- start the campaign for Linked Helper to initiate processing profiles in the following actions.
