More than a year ago LinkedIn introduced a new feature called Events, which provides LinkedIn members with an easy way to create and join professional Events that interest them, such as meetups, online workshops, seminars, and more. LinkedIn members can use the feature to find and join communities, grow their business, network with others, and learn new skills. Inviting your 1st-degree connections into event your company organizes is a perfect way for marketers to increase the brand awareness.
An event can be organized either by a person or by a page. Here are the links for more info:
Since there is 'Invite to event' action in the Linked Helper 2, it is possible to create a custom campaign to natively invite profiles to the event to increase the number of participants.
Create campaign
- Open event page and copy event link from address bar: https://www.linkedin.com/events/6854120000677060608/
- Click plus button next to the Campaigns list, choose 'Invite person to event' template, give it a name and click 'Create campaign' button:
- Paste the event link into the event field in the 1st step. It will be used later to invite profiles both via native LinkedIn functionality and via a message:
- Edit message template that will be sent to those who received your invitation via native LinkedIn functionality. As you already noticed, a link to event is also included into message template: How to create message templates
- Set up a follow-up reminder to those who received previous message but haven't replied. You can specify minimum time delay between two messages.
- You can send several follow-ups. If you don't want to add another follow-up, check 'I don't want to send this message' option and click Finish:
Filter and collect leads for messaging
Once campaign is created, Linked Helper offers you to add leads to the newly created campaign.
Note: Linked Helper doesn't have its own filters for collecting from LinkedIn it uses those of LinkedIn search, hence you need to finely filter profiles in LinkedIn search to get most qualified leads - How to filter and collect profiles via Linked Helper. In this article we will use regular LinkedIn search, but you can get leads from any other source as long as you collect your 1st-degree connections.
- Click Continue button:
- Choose the Source for collecting (it can be ordinary LinkedIn search, Sales Navigator search, or Recruiter search), I'll go with the ordinary LinkedIn search page. You can also upload contacts for inviting if you have a CSV file with URLs of the needed 1st level contacts for inviting - How to upload contacts to Linked Helper 2?
- Once you are in the search page, apply all the needed filters. In this case, we will use Connections (1st degree), Locations (United States), and Title (CEO) filters if needed. After click 'Collect' button, and then - 'From current page':
- Once collecting is over, you can review collected profiles and the workflow or start your campaign:

Review profiles
You can check the collected contacts in the Queue list. There you can:
- exclude (with Exclude list plugin installed) some contacts in case you for some reason do not want to invite them - How to exclude contacts from a campaign in LH 2?;
- delete them;
- tag them (with Tagging system plugin installed);
- download to create a file with custom variables and upload them into LH2 (with Custom template variables plugin installed)

Review Action settings
Let's overview the campaign workflow and Actions' settings. For that you need to click Campaign menu and navigate to the Workflow tab:
In the Workflow tab you will see several actions:
- Invite person to event - sends invitation to a profile via native LinkedIn functionality. Profile receives invite into Notification section.
- Message to 1st connections - sends a follow-up message to recently invited connection within the previous inviting action.
Note:
- You can add a pause between 1st and 2nd Actions using Delay between actions. Just click plus button between Actions and choose Delay between actions.
- It's possible to send those who replied to external CRM using Send replied to Webhook plugin. - Check for replies - monitors replies to the messages sent via the previous messaging Action of the campaign.
Note:
- You can set the number of days profile checks for replies in the General tab.
- If no reply found within a specified period of time, a profile is moved to the "Successful" list and further down in the workflow, and his replies to the previously sent message won't be checked anymore.
- It's possible to send those who replied to external CRM using Send replied to Webhook plugin.
- Replied contacts will be moved to the Replied sub-list and this is the ending point of the campaign for them, even if you have other actions in your workflow below. If you want them to receive the next message despite the fact that they replied, you can replace Check for replies with Delay between actions or retry such profiles manually - How to send a follow-up message to the profile even if he or she replied.
- Check for replies action searches for replies from the profile only in one platform where the previous message was sent; it does not check a messaging history in several platforms. - Message to 1st connections - sends the second follow-up to those who haven't replied to the previous one.
Note:
- By default, it does not send the follow-up to those who replied anything after previous message or who received a manual message from you before. You can change this behaviour in the Message analyzer tab of the Action.
- It's possible to send those who replied to external CRM using Send replied to Webhook plugin. - Check for replies - monitors replies to the messages sent via the previous messaging Action.
Note:
- If this is the last step in the Workflow, then by default, the "never" setting is activated which means the Action continues checking for replies for contacts in the Queue and never moves them to the Successful list. If you add another Action below, then the "never" option is uncheck automatically and the delay is set to 1 day.
Every action can be enhanced with plugins providing extra functionality - Plugin Store.
If you do not want to send follow-up messages, you can delete those actions:
Or vice versa, if you'd like to send another (third, forth, etc) follow-up, you can easily add it and set up a delay:
Here is the link to instruction on managing the workflow of your campaign: Workflow.
Start the campaign
After you set up everything according to your needs, you can start your campaign by clicking the Start button.
Note:campaigns are programmed in a way to get your contacts through the funnel as quickly as possible so the actions are performed from the bottom to the top going from the latest action if there`s anything in the queue to the earliest.
Define those who accepted your invitation
To define who accepted the invitation to this event you need to:
- Install Tagging system plug-in;
- Go to the Successful list of the 1st Action and tag invited profiles with 'invited to event' tag - How to use tags in Linked Helper?;

- Select newly created campaign from the drop-down menu where you want to collect profiles, apply filters if needed, and then click 'collect' and 'from current page':
